Three different things live here, each read differently.

How it was built is a written history, kept current. It is the one page in this section that is brought forward: seven milestones and then, since the rollout, seven chapters of what a running system grew into. Read it to find out why something is the way it is, or when a decision was made and what it was weighed against.

Release notes are the upgrade notes release by release, one section each, which were guides/upgrading.md until 2026-09-17. What is true of any upgrade is in Upgrading; these are what a particular release cost, kept because an installation older than any that exists today would still meet them.

The handover notes and runbook evidence are the rest, written during specific milestones. Each was accurate on the date it was written, and none has been maintained since. Commands, paths, versions and cluster states described in them may no longer match the current codebase or any live deployment. That is expected. They are frozen on purpose as the record of what a milestone started from and what was actually observed, which a later correction would destroy instead of improve.

Several of those pages cite the design documents behind the milestone they cover. Those documents live in the repository, not on this site: see docs/superpowers/specs/ on GitHub.

Nothing in this section tells you how to run Spawnery today. For that, start with the tutorial, then the guides; the reference is generated from the code and is the only part that cannot go stale.
